When we get an agenda we will post it here. If you are in town that day, we encourage you to come to this committee meeting.
The budget cuts this past session have been amplified by the governor's mandate for an additional 5% cut of all departments. These cuts will have a devastating affect on families, children, and people living in our communities. We need to be vigilant and we need to be clear to leadership at the General Assembly that they must work to restore services to people with developmental and intellectual disabilities.

I am not a blogger, but I am looking everywhere for information on the medicaid cuts from the state of NC. I have heard rumors of 3% and 3.5% rate cuts. Howwever, I cannot find any WRITTEN information to verify either of these rumors. Can anyone help?
I can give you some information regarding the Medicaid Cuts. The reason you are unable to find any written material from the Department of HHS, of DMA, or the Division of MH/DD/SAS on the Medicaid cuts is because none has been released.
The full extent of the cuts is still be determined but we are hearing through the rumor mill that it may go as high as 4%.
Adding to the confusion on cuts is the directive from the governor that departments take an additional 5% cut over the cuts presented in the budget.
LMEs are currently receiving letters regarding cuts and we should have very detailed information early next week.
Hope this helps.
