The House Judiciary Committee’s Subcommittee on the Constitution, Civil Rights and Civil Liberties will hold a hearing on H.R. 3195, the ADA Restoration Act on Thursday, October 4. This is the first of several hearings anticipated on the ADA Restoration Act since there are four committees in the House that have jurisdiction over the ADA. The first witness scheduled to testify is House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-MD). Congressman Hoyer took the lead in the House in enacting the ADA in 1990 and is reprising that role with the ADA Restoration Act.
The Arc of North Carolina Policy Blog will be following the progress of this important legislation as part of our Federal Updates and in conjunction with Disability History and Awareness Month.
